THRIVE Intervention Programme
Building the skills, confidence and relationships young people need to thrive.
Our THRIVE Intervention Programme provides schools with structured, relationship-led interventions designed to support children and young people who are experiencing barriers to engagement, behaviour, relationships, wellbeing or positive participation in education.
We work with young people to understand the experiences and behaviours that can affect their progress, creating a safe and supportive environment where they can reflect, develop new skills and build confidence. THRIVE is designed to complement existing pastoral, safeguarding and behaviour systems, providing targeted support before challenges become more significant.
Our programme combines structured intervention units, small-group and individual delivery, mentoring, reflection and practical activities to help young people develop the knowledge, skills and resilience they need to engage positively with education and prepare for life beyond school.
Our Framework
Theory of Change
Understand how THRIVE is designed to create change — from the needs we identify and the activities we deliver through to the outcomes we aim to achieve.
Logic Model
See how THRIVE's inputs, activities and outputs connect to short-, medium- and longer-term outcomes.

A Different Approach to Intervention
We don't believe that a one-size-fits-all intervention creates meaningful change.
Young people may experience challenges with behaviour, relationships, emotional regulation, confidence, identity, decision-making or engagement with education. These challenges are often interconnected, and effective support needs to look beyond the presenting behaviour to understand what sits behind it.
THRIVE provides a structured and consistent programme that gives young people the space to understand themselves, develop practical skills and make positive choices, while allowing delivery to respond to their individual needs and experiences.
Our approach is:
-
Trauma-informed – recognising how experiences and adversity can influence behaviour, relationships and emotional wellbeing.
-
Restorative – helping young people understand the impact of their choices, repair relationships and move forward positively.
-
Relationship-led – creating safe, trusting relationships that enable honest conversations and meaningful engagement.
-
Strengths-based – recognising what young people can do and building confidence from their existing strengths.
-
Culturally responsive – recognising identity, culture, community and lived experience as part of the young person's development.
-
Evidence-informed – drawing on established approaches from education, behaviour, relationships, emotional wellbeing and youth development.
-
Needs-led – responding to the individual needs of the young person while maintaining the structure and fidelity of the programme.
THRIVE is designed to be more than a series of activities. It is a structured opportunity for young people to reflect, develop, practise and apply new skills — helping them make positive changes in school and beyond.
What We Offer
A Structured Programme for Meaningful Change
THRIVE is delivered through a structured programme of themed intervention units, designed to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and behaviours young people need to engage positively with education and wider life.
The programme can be delivered through small-group or targeted one-to-one interventions, depending on the needs of the school and the young people being supported.
Each unit follows a consistent structure while allowing practitioners to adapt activities, discussions and delivery to the age, needs and experiences of the young people.

How THRIVE Is Delivered
THRIVE is designed to create a safe environment where young people can talk, reflect, challenge ideas, practise new skills and apply their learning.
Sessions use a combination of:
-
Structured discussion
-
Practical activities
-
Scenario-based learning
-
Reflection and self-assessment
-
Group work
-
Individual mentoring
-
Goal setting
-
Real-life application
-
Pupil voice and feedback
The programme can be delivered as a six-week intervention unit, with schools able to select the most appropriate units according to the needs of their pupils.
Where appropriate, units can also be combined to create a longer-term intervention pathway.
More Than an Intervention
THRIVE is not simply about delivering sessions and completing activities.
The programme is designed to help young people understand, reflect, develop and apply — supporting them to transfer what they learn into their relationships, behaviour, decision-making and engagement with education.
Schools receive clear information on participation, engagement and progress, allowing THRIVE to sit alongside existing pastoral, safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion systems.

Safeguarding & Early Intervention
THRIVE sits within the wider pastoral, safeguarding and inclusion framework of the school.
Our practitioners work closely with school staff to identify concerns early and ensure that young people receive the appropriate level of support. Where intervention identifies wider safeguarding, welfare or vulnerability concerns, these are managed through the school's existing safeguarding procedures and escalated appropriately.
THRIVE can also complement existing Early Help, pastoral, behaviour, inclusion and safeguarding provision, providing an additional layer of preventative support before challenges escalate.
Our aim is to create opportunities for early intervention, strengthen protective factors and help young people develop the skills and relationships they need to make positive choices.
Evidence-Informed Practice.
THRIVE is informed by established approaches across education, behaviour, relationships, emotional wellbeing, youth development and early intervention.
We recognise that effective intervention is not simply about delivering information. Young people need opportunities to understand, discuss, reflect, practise and apply what they have learned.
Our programme therefore combines:
Structured content + trusted relationships + active participation + reflection + practical application.
The consistent structure of THRIVE supports fidelity across settings, while practitioners can adapt activities and delivery to the age, context and needs of the young people participating.
Measuring Impact
We don't just measure whether a young person attended a session. We measure development and change.
Depending on the school's priorities, we can monitor:
Participation and engagement
-
Knowledge and understanding
-
Confidence and self-awareness
-
Emotional regulation
-
Relationship skills
-
Behaviour and decision-making
-
Attitudes and perceptions
-
Aspirations and future planning
-
Pupil voice and feedback
-
School and practitioner feedback
-
Baseline and end-of-intervention measures can be used to identify changes in knowledge, attitudes, confidence and skills.
Our delivery model is supported by a clear Theory of Change and Logic Model, demonstrating how THRIVE's activities are intended to contribute to improved individual, educational and longer-term outcomes.
Built Around Your School
THRIVE can be commissioned as a targeted intervention, small-group programme, one-to-one support or as part of a wider pastoral, behaviour and inclusion strategy.
We work alongside your existing teams, ensuring that THRIVE complements rather than duplicates the support already available within your school.
The programme can be delivered as individual six-week units or combined to create a longer-term intervention pathway.
THRIVE gives young people the space to understand themselves, develop their skills, make positive choices and build a more positive future.
